Is an Irish Director and Director of Photography working mainly within the narrative, documentary and commercial genres. James has been nominated and won awards for many projects including his short film, ‘Beauty & Chaos’, a surf documentary following Irish surfer Conor Maguire around the globe. His short film, ‘When We’re Gone’, shot on the West Coast of Ireland, in a dystopian vision of Liscannor and won the best ‘Art House’ award at the 2021 Fastnet Film Festival. His short film ‘Tasos’, follows the process and performance of circuit bender and musician Tasos Stamou. Most recently his short documentary, ‘A Stone Place’, is a visual journey showcasing a unique rock that is quarried on the side of the biggest cliffs in Europe and that has created the aesthetic of a small rural town in the west of Ireland. James has also had the opportunity to work with such musicians as Brian Eno, Damien Dempsey, Pauline Scanlon and Morrissey & Marshall.
