About the event

The Berlin-based, Dublin vocalist and songwriter's versatility ranges from soul, jazz, rhythm & blues to opera.

On Oct 20th she will perform a stripped-back, intimate concert of tracks from 'January Skies' and her debut EP 'Melodramas' in addition to classic songs that have inspired her own writing and style.

Daly's debut album 'January Skies', was featured in the The Irish Times Best Albums of 2022 shortlist and it is a result of a successful grass-roots crowdfunding campaign. It was recorded at Jazzanova Recording Studio, Berlin and is a collaboration with Australian composer, Michael Edwards -(Morcheeba, Calvary soundtrack). The album draws themes of purpose, patriarchy, rites of passage and lost faith. Singles released to date include the album title track 'January Skies', 'In My Dreams' and  'Missed Chances', which was featured on the RTE RADIO ONE Recommended playlist. Her 4th single, the theatrical and subversive pop track 'Raven', showcases her classical background.

As an opera singer, she has performed at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Deutsche Oper Berlin. Other notable work include guest vocals on the critically acclaimed ‘These New Puritans’ album ‘Inside the Rose’.

Michelle is planning a full digital release of her album this Winter of 2023, accompanied by a promotional tour.
